About Dr. Jones
I received my B.S. and M.Ed. degree in Health
and Kinesiology from the University of Texas-Pan American and
my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Kinesiology from Texas A&M University-Commerce.
For my Hypnosis training, I attended the Alchemy
Institute in Denver. After 200 hours of training, I graduated
as a Certified Hypnotherapist in 1995. I continued to take over
100 hours of advanced classes. When I accumulated 250 hours, I
advanced to Clinical Hypnotherapist and became certified by the
American Council of Hypnotist Examiners as a Clinical Hypnotherapist.
For approximately 10 years I have been practicing Hypnosis / Hypnotherapy.
My specialties are Cellular Healing Therapy and Therapeutic
Weight-Loss.
After moving to Colorado, I went to work for Denver
Health and Hospitals as a Community Wellness Coordinator in Montbello
and Green Valley Ranch. This was a CVD/HTN Prevention Program.
Part of my many duties included blood pressure screenings, counseling
on hypertension, blood lipids, stress, nutrition and weight management.
I assisted clients with goal setting and exercise prescription
and also taught Aerobic Walking, Yoga and Stretch and Shape.
While completing my Doctor of Education degree
at Texas A&M University-Commerce, I was the Wellness Coordinator
for the Wellness Program. Part of my duties as Wellness Coordinator
were fitness assessment and counseling. I counseled clients on
the results of the blood lipid test (cholesterol profile), nutrition,
weight management and stress and assisted clients with goal setting
and exercise prescriptions. I also taught the Aerobic Walking
classes at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
I was the President of the Board of Directors
of the Colorado Association of Psychotherapists (CAP) for 3 years
and I am now serving on the Colorado State Grievance Board as
a Professional Member.
